AC Newman and his crew of indie rockers have once again charmed the world on The New Pornographers newest album, Together.

Listening to their CD’s have always felt been like being part of a sing-along at summer camp. With clapping, snapping and whistling a plenty The New Pornographers put together an album that promises good feelings and smiles.

In the making of Together, the band made some changes and decided to showcase Neko Case’s voice on virtually every track. The track, ‘Crash Years’, is a power pop gem that combines everything from tambourines to jangly guitar riffs to whistling; and Case’s unmatched voice propels the track from start to finish.

Here at Harmelody.com we’re all about promoting new music and digging up bands you may not hear about on the mainstream blogs.

Derby Mama, a Ypsilanti, MI band is a group that we’ve been loving recently. This band has something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of ones music preference.

All of Derby Mama's members linger at the blurry intersection of folk, rock, and blues- which explains why the band suggests nothing so much as a modern day Buffalo Springfield or The Band.

Nick Zomparelli, Jared Walker, John Gallias and part-time band-mate, Ben Marth, have been making music for several years now and have collected quite a fan base.

Leading man, Nick Zomparelli, talked to us at Harmelody and gave some insight to the band that is: Derby Mama.

For the past four years, Yeasayer has been testing the limits of psychedelic rock and providing fans with jam sessions that rival even the classic jam bands.

In March, the band released their much anticipated sophomore album, Odd Blood, and music critics everywhere quickly reacted to the debut.

Some believed Yeasayer toned things down- evolving into a more mainstream band. Others argued they were simply reinventing their sound which is true to the band’s form.

Yet another male/female duo is hitting the scene and making waves- but don’t expect anything like the calming melodies of She and Him or the slow rhythms of Beach House from Sleigh Bells.

Derek E. Miller and Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells put together a loud, ‘in your face’ and unapologetic set on their debut album, Treats. The album, which was released on Tuesday, is already ranked 39 on the US billboards.

The band produced a mix of synth-pop and electro-trance that has extreme beats on every track. With Miller spinning the riffs and Krauss on vocals the two make tunes reminiscent of Flaming Lips on tracks like Rill Rill but also echoing MIA on tracks like Riot Rhythm.

Nas and Kelis' marriage is officially over - the former couple has been granted a divorce.

The hip-hop couple split in April, 2009 after four years of marriage, with Kelis citing irreconcilable differences in her divorce papers, which were filed just months before she gave birth to the pair's baby son Knight.

The pair has been locked in legal wrangling ever since over various issues including custody of their son, as well as spousal and child support payments. Legal documents filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday reveal their marriage is now officially over.
