Founding bassist of the Kinks, Pete Quaife, died on Friday, June 25. The cause of death is still uncertain, but BBC reported he had been undergoing dialysis for some time. Quaife was 66 years old.
Being an original member of the Kinks, Quaife played on classic tracks like ‘You Really Got Me’ and ‘Lola’. He left the band in 1969.After his departure, he formed a band called Mapleoak, but the band never succeeded in commercial success.
Later in life, Quaife lived in both Ontario and then Denmark working as a graphic artist.
We here at Harmelody mourn the loss of the rock legend and our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in Peace Pete.
